The First Nations Health Consortium is excited to announce we will be holding our 3rd Annual Youth Teepee Summit July 29-31, 2024 at the beautiful Northeast River Valley Event Centre in Edmonton!

This event is FREE to attend!

The Youth Teepee Summit brings together Indigenous youth from across the province to connect, participate in cultural, physical and educational activities, and interact with inspirational Elders and speakers.

This year’s themes include sports and recreation, entrepreneurship, storytelling and culture.

This event is hosted for Indigenous youth but all are welcome to attend. Please note youth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

What is the Youth Teepee Summit?

The mission of the Youth Teepee Summit is to empower Indigenous youth through connection, culture and guidance from Elders, speakers and facilitators. The Youth Teepee Summit is a gathering of many voices to share knowledge, wisdom and experiences.

This summit is a hopeful and solution-oriented approach to empower our youth by moving forward reconciliation to reconcili-ACTION!

Big Dreams, Big Smiles: Zach Whitecloud Makes Special Visit to Treaty 7

A special afternoon at Chief Old Sun Elementary School on Siksika Nation as First Nations Health Consortium proudly partnered with HEROS Hockey and the Calgary Flames to bring Stanley Cup champion and current Flame Zach Whitecloud to visit students and staff.

Weekend of Connection Through Sport

On March 13 & 14th students from three First Nations communities traveled to Calgary to take part in a unique curling experience. Through a floor curling bonspiel at WinSport, they learned the game, competed together, and built new connections all while representing their schools and communities with pride.

Impact Grows When We Collaborate

Healthy Horizons made a generous investment to ensure young people have access to sport and proper equipment. Sport Central continues to steward those resources and place gear directly into the hands of kids who need it most. We helped bridge that connection in the community so everyone involved could be recognized and celebrated.
