Treaty Status Registration Supports

First Nations Health Consortium (FNHC) staff can support the application process for First Nations and Inuit children and adults living in Alberta to obtain Treaty Status registration also known as ‘Indian Status’.

 

Treaty Status protects your treaty rights and has several benefits including:
  • ♦    Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) for dental, vision, mental health, pharmacy products, medical supplies and medical transportation.
  • ♦    Hunting, fishing and harvesting rights.
  • ♦    Recognized rights related to cultural identity.
Applications we assist with:
  • ♦    Children (15 or younger) or dependent adults.
  • ♦    Adults (16 or older).
  • ♦    Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) card and renewal.
