Indigenous Girls Golf Alumni Takes Second Place

Big win for our Indigenous Girls Golf alumni!!

On Sept 16, 2025, four girls from our Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative recently played in the Jr. High S.P.A.A. (St. Paul Athletic Association) Golf Championships, representing Ashmont School — they finished 2nd over all! 🥈

Two proud parents reached out to say thank you and gave a big shoutout to the Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative for helping their daughters with golf clubs and teaching them how to golf.

“Thank you to the First Nation Health Consortium for creating a space for our young Indigenous girls to learn a new sport. Since the first golf clinic in St.Paul my daughter has been golfing every chance she gets with the clubs you gave her. We couldn’t be happier for the opportunity of the Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative” said the parent of one of our Indigenous Girls Golf participant.

We were so pleased to hear the feedback from a participant of our Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative, “Thank you to the Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative for introducing us to the game of golf, without the team we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to place at SPAA. We knew how to putt, chip, and smash the ball. We knew our game because of your rockstar instructors. Thank you from your future LPGA Golfer”.

The Indigenous Girls Golf Initiative is dedicated to empowering young Indigenous girls who are ready to step onto the green and discover the many benefits that golf has to offer. This event highlights the physical, mental, and social advantages of the sport, while fostering a supportive environment for growth.

Our mission is to build confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills among Indigenous girls across the province. Through mentorship and inspiration from accomplished Indigenous golf instructors, we aim to empower the next generation with skills that extend beyond the game.
