On February 24, 2026, our team member Sam Laboucan, Corporate and Community Relations, had the honour of accepting a $10,000 donation on behalf of our partner Sport Central from The North West Company and the Healthy Horizons Foundation. Joining him in Fort Chipewyan was Bradley Wyman, Manager of the Northern Store.
Sport Central staff were unable to travel to Fort Chipewyan for the cheque presentation. As an organization that works in communities across Alberta every day, we were grateful to step in when our partners needed someone on the ground to represent them.
Impact grows when we collaborate – not by showing up for each other, but by moving forward together.
Healthy Horizons made a generous investment to ensure young people have access to sport and proper equipment. Sport Central continues to steward those resources and place gear directly into the hands of kids who need it most. We helped bridge that connection in the community so everyone involved could be recognized and celebrated.
When organizations trust each other, share capacity, and move forward together, everyone wins – especially the kids.
We’re grateful to support communities together and to work alongside partners who understand that impact is always bigger than any one organization.
