The FNHC is now a trusted source for registration services supporting First Nations individuals in Alberta to apply for a Certificate of Indian Status (CIS) and / or a Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) card. What do these terms mean? Click here.

If you are located near one of our Trusted Source locations in Edmonton, Calgary or High-Level, our staff can assist you with your Indian Status Application in-person by appointment only. Please contact us to set up an appointment through our online registration intake form below.

Please Note: Our High Level office will begin in person application assistance in January 2025. 

If you live outside these areas and are unable to visit us in person, our team may be able to assist you with the application process remotely – please contact us for more information.

Individuals are required to provide documentation to support their identity as part of the registration and the Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) application processes. Our staff will support you throughout this process.
