FloorCurl Activation Event

Today, we were at Winsport in Calgary with kids from Siksika Nation, Tsuut’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda Nations participating in the first ever Indigenous FloorCurl Activation Event!

The event saw an opening prayer and land acknowledgement from Krista White from the Aboriginal Friendship Center of Calgary and opening remarks from Dr. Tyler White, FNHC Board Chair, Barry Phillips, FNHC CEO and Nolan Theissen, CEO of Curling Canada.

We also had Team Canada, Team Alberta and Team Northwest Territories join us to help teach curling, these teams will be playing in the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Calgary!

FloorCurl is an initiative supported by Egg Farmers Rocks and Rings and the FNHC, and was a big hit. Thank you to everyone that joined us for this event, it was smashing!
